And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:3
Our Philosophy of Music:
“The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.”
Such timeless words, uttered by J. S. Bach, provide the philosophy of the CHBC music ministry. Our ultimate goal is the glory of God!
How we fulfill our philosophy of music:
Vibrant congregational singing of the traditional gospel songs and the hymns of the faith allows the Church, the body of Christ, to encourage one another while expressing worship and praise to our God. CHBC seeks to glorify God by singing the traditional gospel songs and hymns of the faith which reinforces our core doctrines and beliefs and reminds us of our responsibilities of obedience before our God.
The CHBC choir blesses the CHBC family with stirring anthem and hymn arrangements at each Sunday service as well as several special concerts each year.
Those who are members of CHBC and have musical talent and ability are given ample opportunity to use their gifts to bless the CHBC family to the glory of God. These opportunities may be as soloist, offertories, ensembles, etc. Our young people are encouraged to participate in these ways as well.
Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength:
so will we sing and praise thy power.
